This short documentary film is well worth a watch. It's such a simple concept with just pictures and voiceovers of the people on the answer-phone recordings, yet such a clever idea from the creator, Mark Craig. He knew what a great short this would make, so much so that he let the stories be created over a 20 year period. It takes you through his and his friends lives, as they 'mature' over the 20 years. The pictures showing us the voices behind the answer-phone create a great story, as although the voices and dirty-mouths hardly change, Craig gives us new images of the people with their new families ect.
The elements of this film that i really like is how Mark has bared all for his audience to hear, showing the realities of life. The ins and outs, ups and downs. this includes Mark's dad dieing, having tough times, friends having kids and even 'booty call' messages.
It's lovely, funny and sad. A great and clever way to tell so many stories.
